Potholes and Pathways

The County Council have launched a couple of online initiatives that may be of interest to the village.

  • The first is a facility to report potholes and other highway issues directly to the Highways Department
  • The second is  online mapping system of all the Public Footpaths and Rights of Way in Somerset which allows a rambler to plan a route and also report any broken stiles, etc.

The attached sheet contains an extract from Marcus Fysh's report with the relevant links.

Calling Your Local Police
From September 2014 the new national non-emergency telephone number will be 101 (the old number 0845 456 7000 has been phased out).  Calls to 101 will cost 15p (landlines and mobiles), irrespective of how long that call may last.  In an emergency the public should still call 999 eg when a crime is in progress, when there is danger to life or when violence is being used or threatened.
